Airtel plans to unveil 4G enabled smartphone at Rs 2500

Airtel, the India’s largest telecom provider is planning to launch a smartphone in the coming months. They are in discussion with various smartphone manufacturers. Reports say, that this phone will be a 4G enabled smartphone. The phone also consists of 1 GB RAM and a battery life which would last for a day. 4-inch display and 4G VoLTE calling are the features to look out for in Airtel phone. It also supports, dual sim to make the life easier for those who carry multiple phones. Airtel phone is likely to be priced at Rs 2500.

Diwali Launch

If you are looking to purchase this phone, then you might have to wait till Diwali. Because, airtel might take one or two months from now to finalize everything for a smooth launch. This phone would be a direct competition to Reliance Jio smartphone which was priced at Rs 1500. The pre-booking for Jio phones started on August 24 and shipments to begin before September 21.

On the other hand, Airtel is launching 4G VoLTE services from next week. Mumbai would be the first city to avail this service. In addition to it, airtel announced that all calls made via VoLTE will be free of cost.
