Facebook Removing Trending Topics News Section From Its Platform

Big changes in the world’s biggest social site Facebook are going to be changing. Facebook has said that it is going to remove the trending feature from next week. Facebook’s trending feature was launched in 2014, which looks at the right side of the Facebook profile timeline. There are reports of specific issues in trending which are the most discussed. This feature of Facebook is available in only 5 countries around the world and 1.5 percent of the news in the trending topics is clicked on the news.

Facebook will bring the feature of breaking news instead. Facebook claims that breaking news will be given to reliable sources of users and fake news will be stopped.

Breaking News Level– Facebook has partnered with 80 news publishers in North America, South America, Europe, India and Australia for this service. Apart from this, Facebook will also provide notifications when big breaking news arrives. Currently, the testing is going on.

Today In– Facebook is testing a new section, which will be named TodayIn. There will be local breaking and big news in this section. There will also be updates made by local government officials.

News Video In Watch – This section will be available in the format of the news video. There will also be live coverage and weekly updates will also be available. Facebook has given this information in its blog post.
