Passengers traveling in flying flights from Delhi Airport will now have to pay less money. The Supreme Court has allowed passenger fees and aircraft parking fees to be reduced.
After this decision, domestic passengers will have to pay just 10 rupees to the UDF. Earlier, passengers had to give UDF upto 275-550 per ticket.
Heavy reduction in UDF
Domestic travelers who depart from Indira Gandhi International Airport will now have to pay 10 rupees as user development fees, which was earlier Rs 275-550. At the same time, international travelers will have to pay Rs 45 as UDF, which was earlier Rs 635-1,270. Let us tell you that in 2015, the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) had decided to reduce these charges, but the Delhi High Court had banned it.
What was the case
AERA had ordered the deduction of charges for the year 2014 to 2019. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) was fighting a legal battle with the aviation companies on this matter, so this order could not be implemented.
