Indian automobile companies are making significant contributions to the expansion of electric vehicles. Indian company Mahindra & Mahindra is also expanding its hands in the initiative of expanding government electric vehicles. According to sources, Mahindra & Mahindra will offer a taxi booking service firm with Uber. Mahindra & Mahindra has also tied up with Ola for the taxi booking service in the past.
This is an ambitious plan of Mahindra & Mahindra Company, in which it will work in collaboration with Uber, which is the taxi booking service provider and will deploy electric vehicles on the platforms of India’s cities. There will be Mahindra’s electric vehicles, in which e2o plus hatch and eVerito sedan will be included mainly.
This partnership of both the companies will expand the electric vehicles in India. Mahindra’s Managing Director Pawan Goenka described the partnership with Uber as an important step of the company and said that it will take the initiative of electric vehicles in the country.
For the supply of electric vehicles to the Public Sector Company Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), Mahindra will demand 9,500 electric vehicles in the second phase of the tender. The company will have the capability of manufacturing 5000 units of electric vehicles in 2019.
