Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest carmaker, is planning to double the sales of its light commercial vehicle Super Carry. Where the company had sold a total of 10,000 light commercial vehicles in the year 2017-18. At the same time, the company has now planned to make it a 20,000 unit.
“The company is expecting good sales this year keeping in view the expansion of the sales network,” said a top company official.
According to RS Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Sales and Marketing), Maruti Suzuki India said that, “We have crossed the 200 mark in terms of sales network for Super Carry. And now it is moving towards increasing it.”
Asked about the business of Light Commercial Vehicle vehicles, Kalsi said that this process continues. He said that we will look at opportunities and make decisions accordingly. Significantly, Maruti Suzuki introduced Super Carry in September 2016. In this Super Carry segment, despite the fact that Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra were dominating in the market at the time, Maruti Suzuki managed to regain its foothold.
