Reliance announced on Thursday that users will be able to use WhatsApp and YouTube soon on Jio Phone. These social media apps will be available from August 15. It seems that the Jio Phone will not be the only feature phone that WhatsApp will run. Nokia brand phone maker HMD Global has released an official teaser that ‘Banana’ phone Nokia 8110 4G can also get WhatsApp support soon. This phone was launched in Mobile World Congress 2018. This is an upgrade to the old Nokia 8110 which runs on the Smart Feature OS (based on KOOS). In this, the user gets access to apps like Google Assistant, Google Search and Google Maps. There is no support for Whatsapp yet, but this app will come soon for the phone.
These days the biggest drawback of feature phones is the absence of popular Whatsapp. Many times, due to this, users spend more money to buy smartphones. Jio Phone is very popular in India. This phone has 25 million subscribers. If more popular apps in the coming days become part of a feature phone such as Jio Phone and Nokia 8810 4G, then they will be able to challenge many cheap smartphones.
