Toyota on Thursday launched a special edition model of its popular SUV Toyota Fortuner. The special model launched in the market named Toyota Fortuner TRD Celebratory Edition is priced at Rs 33.85 lakh. It is only available with a diesel engine-automatic transmission in 2-wheel drive. The new model is based on the standard Fortuner 2.8D 4×2 AT variant, against which it costs Rs 2.15 lakh more.
The Fortuner brand completed 10 years in India. To celebrate this, the company has launched its special edition. Toyota has sold 1.6 lakh Fortuner SUVs in India in the last 10 years.
Talking about changes in this new model of Fortuner compared to the standard model, it has been introduced in dual tone color. Its roof is in black and body pearl white color. The rear features a new bumper and TRD badging. Apart from this, there is no significant change in the rear of the SUV.
The cabin also has a dual-tone theme on the outside. Seats in maroon and black color have TRD logo. Contrast red stitching is provided on the dashboard. Apart from this, there has been no change in the list of features. This special edition model also has features such as LED projector headlamps, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, 7-airbags, vehicle stabilizer control with brake assist, hill assist control and ABS with EBD.
The TRD Celebration Edition Fortuner has a 2.8-liter diesel engine. It generates 174.5 bhp power and 450 Nm peak torque. The engine is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The SUV has an idol stop / start function.
